Real Wedding Saturday: Mary Keller & JD

Melissa Schollaert sent me these photos of Mary Keller and JD's wedding in Charleston, and I can't get over how perfectly classic and timeless they are. The simple details of this wedding are evidence that there's no need to overthink things when planning a gorgeous and meaningful wedding, and Melissa captured the day beautifully.

Mary Keller is originally from South Carolina, so Charleston was the perfect place to entertain 100 guests for the weekend.

The bride wore a dress by Ulla-Maija Couture.

Mary Keller's garter was made of lace from her grandmother's wedding gown and served as "something old."

The flowers, done by Heather Barrie-Ahern of Gathering Floral & Event Design, were roses, hydrangeas, gardenias, orchids and ranunculus, in ivory and blush tones.

The ceremony took place at the historic French Huguenot Church.

Mary Keller had one bridesmaid, her younger sister, and two flower girls.

Following the ceremony, guests walked to McCrady's, an historical restaurant located on a tiny alley off of East Bay Street. Traditional Southern favorites were served: shrimp and grits, benne seed wafers, lobster and pimento cheese. The guest book was a coffee table book about Charleston where guests signed their names and left good wishes.

Mary Keller and JD couldn't agree on a cake flavor, so they served cupcakes made by Ashley Bakery in a variety of their favorites: red velvet, carrot, coconut, Italian creme, and mocha.

Mary Keller and JD left on a pedicab decorated with a Just Married sign and painted tin cans.

Congratulations Mary Keller and JD! And thank you to Melissa Schollaert for sending over these gorgeous photos!

I agree, absolutely timeless and classic. I love the shot of the Chanel no 5 bottle, it says 'timeless and classic' and goes with the rest of this wedding so well.

Beautiful.
