Real Wedding: Lisanne & Anthony

Lisanne has been a Snippet & Ink reader since almost my first post, and I even made a Moroccan-inspired wedding board for her last year. But then she inherited a collection of milk glass from her grandmother, and when she saw this inspiration board, she and Anthony decided that was the look they wanted for their July wedding. It's so fun to see one of my inspiration boards translated into a real wedding!

Lisanne designed the save-the-dates, invitations, and programs herself, and had the printed at a local printer. The acorn and oak leaf hinted at the wedding venue.

Lisanne wore her sister-in-law's hair comb for her something borrowed, and her great-grandmother's bracelet for something old. She bought her Priscilla of Boston dress for a great price at a sample sale.

The wedding took place at Godric Grove, part of the huge Elings Park in Santa Barbara.

42 of the 160 guests were under the age of sixteen. Lisanne and Anthony filled heart-shaped tins with peas-and-carrots candy for them (a friend nicknamed Lisanne and Anthony peas-and-carrots).

Lisanne gave each of the attendants and close family members a vintage handkerchief.

The three bridesmaids each wore a J.Crew dress in the same style, but different colors.

Peter Feldmann and his band from Bluegrass West, played at the ceremony and cocktail hour.

Lisanne's mother made tissue paper pom-poms to decorate the entrance to the grove, and the amphitheater where the ceremony took place.

Baskets of multi-colored rose petals were placed around the ceremony site for guests to toss as the bride and groom made their way down the aisle.

Anthony wore brown Converse and Lisanne wore orange flats from J.Crew.

All of the flowers were arranged by Grass Roots. Lisanne inherited her grandmother's collection of milkglass, which was used for many of the centerpieces. The rest of the flowers were placed in vintage tins, borrowed from family members or purchased at local antique and thrift stores.

A jar of local orange blossom honey from San Marcos Farms was placed at each seat. Lisanne covered the top of each jar with fabric and used twine to tied a handmade tag to each one.

The kids had a great time rolling down grassy hills and climbing trees.

All of the cakes were made by Jeannine's Bakery, Lisanne and Anthony's favorite local baker. Though this bakery doesn't make "wedding cakes," the couple knew they couldn't have a cake by anyone else, so they ordered one in each flavor: coconut, carrot, lemon poppy seed, strawberry and cream, dark chocolate raspberry, and Texas chocolate fudge.

Guests danced the night away to the sounds of an iPod playlist.

Congratulations Lisanne and Anthony - thank you so much for sharing your beautiful wedding with Snippet & Ink! We are so happy for you, and I'm thrilled that you were able to find some inspiration on Snippet & Ink. And of course thank you to Stewart Marcano for sharing his lovely photos with us!

What a fun looking wedding! I'm not a cake eater so I usually blow past the wedding cakes pics (not very logical I realize) but their non-wedding wedding cake with the flowers is so sweet and fun! Love it.

Oh my goodness. That top cake (with the flowers) is one of the all-time sweetest cakes that I've ever seen!
What a completely charming wedding.

That cake table is just about the most fun sweets display I've seen in a while! It reminds me of the movie Pollyanna, which I adored as a little kid. There's this great scene where they're all at the fair and there's a huge cake display...in other words, this wedding was picture perfect, good enough to eat, and filled with a happiness that radiates from my computer screen. Congrats to the couuple!
