Real Wedding Saturday: Margaret & Neil

I was so excited when Susan Dean introduced herself to me and sent over the photos from Margaret and Neil's beautiful Santa Barbara wedding. Susan takes a fine art approach to wedding photography, and as you'll see, the results are stunning.


Margaret and Neil were married in May at the San Ysidro Ranch in the Montecito foothills in Santa Barbara, full of natural beauty and history - it's where John and Jackie Kennedy spent their honeymoon!




Having recently moved from the East Coast to California, and with both of their families living on the East Coast, the San Ysidro Ranch was the perfect place for what was essentially a destination wedding for their 120 guests.






Margaret wore a dress by Monique Lhuillier. She carried a classic bouquet of lily-of-the-valley made by her mother from flowers that she grew at her beach house in Delaware and brought all the way out to Santa Barbara for the wedding. She also made the flower girl and bridesmaid bouquets.


A bagpiper led the groom and groomsmen to the ceremony site.


The flower girls wore dresses by Ralph Lauren.










All of the sumptuous floral elements were done by the talented Mindy Rice, and Jill LaFleur was the wedding planner.




Each of the tables were named after a place that is special to Margaret and Neil.

Because Margaret is half Chinese, she wanted to incorporate a bit of her heritage into the day. Her niece and nephew changed into outfits purchase in Los Angeles' Chinatown, and carried lanterns made by Mindy Rice to usher guests into the Colman Cottage for some after-dinner dancing.
