Real Wedding Sunday: Christine & Reggie
We've got a beautiful wedding - with beautiful photos from the talented Leigh Miller - for our first official Real Wedding Sunday. I just have so many wonderful weddings to share with you, and I know that a lot of you have said how much you enjoy these weekend posts, so this seemed like the perfect way to do both. Enjoy!
Christine and Reggie chose the BoaVentura Winery in Livermore, California for their wedding because it is cozy and intimate, but could also accommodate their large families. Plus, it has a lot of character, with a chicken coop, a crawl foot tub to hold drinks, a bocce ball court, and a red barn!
They made six wood signs themselves, from the cheapest wood they could find at Home Depot (which also happened to have the most texture), for under $20. From Christine: Sand the edges, wipe with damp cloth. Use a bottle of wood stain (I choose walnut for the dark brown color). Wait 24 hours or until dry. Paint names with a small brush. Screw in small hook. Hang with ribbon.
Christine's Vera Wang dress was an impulse purchase from eBay!
Christine is a graphic designer, so stationery was a project near and dear to her. She couldn't commit to a specific color scheme, so she used colors that wouldn't compete with the red barn, and ended up using mostly gray, white, blue and little hints of red (such as in the baker's twine on the programs).
The bridesmaids wore different dresses in matching colors and fabric, one by Foley + Corinna from Shopbop, and one by Karanina from Bluefly.
All of the flowers for the wedding were purchased at the San Francisco Flower Mart and arranged by the bride and her aunts and cousins two days before the wedding. Christine made the bouquets herself the morning of the wedding.

Christine and Reggie had a signature drink called a Clementina: Cabernet, vodka, lime juice, sugar syrup, soda water. The recipe came from a trip Christine took with her bridesmaids to Playa del Carmen.
The photobooth, rented from 321 Photobooth, was a good time for everyone, from little kids to grandparents.
Christine's friend, Irene, made the cake for cutting. A larger sheet cake from Tartine Bakery served the 175 guests - passionfruit bavarian cake.

This is beautiful. I love barn weddings! I did a feature last week on my site (www.greenweddingshoes.com) showcasing barn weddings all over the country - but I didn't have a red barn! Love it. So many ways to decorate the barns...
