Under the weather...

Hi all. I thought I'd be able to get it together and put up a post today, but I've got a nasty cold and really just need to sleep. Hopefully be back tomorrow!

In the meantime, leave a comment telling us what's inspiring you today!

I know this may not be exactly the direction you mean for us to take this, but...
Today my fiance inspires me. Remembering that in four months I get to walk down the aisle with my favorite person ever gives me a new perspective on wedding challenges and makes me find my creativity all over again.

Last night my fiance and I were on the computer together by coincidence and we started sending each other links back and forth of colors we loved and hated. Eventhough it wasn't totally positive and peaceful, my brain is swirling today with colors and possibilities!

_ Little individual teracotta-colored ceramic pots of cocoa with matching mugs full of warm, chocolatey goodness topped with gobbs of hand-spooned whipped cream.

_ Ombre lanterns

_ The turquoise beading on the capelet I just bought from Etsy.

I hope you feel better soon! Today a perfectly vintage wedding is inspiring me - I originally saw it on The Bride's Cafe and posted a few photos on my blog today.

My niece! At seven, she understands how important weddings are, but hasn't yet been to enough to develop cliched ideas about them. When I was worrying aloud over the father daughter dance (Dad may or may not show up) she said, "Why don't you just boogey dance with Gramma?" (That's the super dorky dance my mom and I do while we're doing dishes and listening to Les Miserables). I think she just might be on to something.

take care of yourself, dear.

funny you should ask about inspiration. i had read about Team Hoyt years ago but came across their amazing story again just last night. read about them and then check out their video on the blog link below. it's inspirational in so many ways.

Inspiration from marigolds, geraniums and other orange and red flowers for my wedding planned in August. Also from candy colored cotton ready for quilting and the creativity of my fellow bloggers.

Today's inspiration comes from JHilldesign.com and all of her posters about where she's never been.

The Kiev one uses the pysanky pattern similar to what I am using as my wedding motif. Total inspiration.

I hope you feel better! I'm inspired by all the orange groves around my neighborhood... the smell is to die for and the burst of orange against that forest green is a work of art. I also love the little kumquat tree I have growing outside my home... the dainty orange ovals look like citrus pearls paired with those delicate white blossoms.
