Board #181: Take Me Out to the Ballgame...

Spring is here, baseball season has officially begun (I went to a game last night), and those trophy-filled centerpieces were too good to resist. Rather than go with a specific team's colors, I went with white and brown for a vintage baseball feel. I'd put the bridesmaids in brown, or maybe white with brown pinstripes, and for one of the weekend activities I'd put together a baseball game of the bride's side versus the groom's side. If you wanted to include some color, you could add a little bit of red, pulled from the stitching on a baseball. My honey says that Miller High Life is noticeably absent from this wedding board - what other ideas would you incorporate into this vintage baseball-themed wedding?

Mood: playful, old-timey
Palette: white, brown, tan

Row 2: vintage baseball card from Dave's Vintage Baseball Cards, cupcake tower from Martha Stewart Weddings, tulips from Brides, white bunting from The Cotton Bunting Company
Row 3: cupcake by Trophy Cupcakes, vintage bats and balls via Michigan in Pictures, Vera Wang dress via Brooklyn Bride, brown suit photo by Dia Rao
Row 4: invitation by East Six, photo via cmulou's flickr stream, flowers in trophy cup, peanuts and cracker jacks from Rebecca Thuss

Update! Check out this fun wedding via Junebug - they've got a rehearsal dinner baseball game!

Save the dates could be old-fashioned baseball cards of the couple.

Ooooh, and then there's vintage baseball recordings

The guest book could be an old bat and the ring bearer could bring down an old catcher's mitt.

ala A League of Their Own - a bat arch would be fun.

Have the guys wear the old school in red/pin striped socks.

Bat cufflinks.

In the ribbon for wrapping the bouquet, have it show a sliver of red with the white - ala baseball stitching.

The Food possibilities are endless. Cracker jacks, popcorn, peanuts in buckets. Hot dogs? And definitely beer. The programs could be modeled after old baseball programs as well. SO fun! Fiance would love it.

Very clever! I love it!

This mat would be cute at the end of the aisle or near the sweetheart table:
