Real Wedding Saturday: Andrea & Brian

Heather Balliet of Amorology sent me this fun wedding, and along with Leo Patrone's lovely photography, it was too good to pass up. Andrea spent a semester in Spain, and is studying Spanish, so Spanish elements were incorporated throughout the wedding, from the invitations to the venue to the decor.

Bridesmaids wore BCBG dresses, shoes by Chinese Laundry, and teal headbands and bracelets from J.Crew.

The groom and groomsmen wore tuxes from Men's Wearhouse.

Fans, lace and crowns played up the Spanish look of the wedding.

Andrea wore Kate Spade shoes and an Alvina Valenta dress that was originally backless and four sizes too big. Pamela Spears at Alta Moda Bridal Boutique altered it for added coverage, without sacrificing any style.

Each of the 300 guests received a postcard with a personal, hand written note from the couple. The notes shared a memory, and were signed, "Con Amor, Andrea and Brian."

The ceremony took place in the morning at the LDS temple in La Jolla, California. The reception took place that evening at the Prado in Balboa Park, keeping with the Spanish feel of the wedding.

A flamenco guitarist played in the courtyard as guests mingled and nibbled hors d'oeuvres.

All of the flowers were done by Twigg Botanicals.

Along with a cake by Flour Power, guests were served churros con chocolate, a delicious Spanish treat.

The couple and their guests danced the night away to The Fabulous Ultratones.

Before making their getaway in a pedicab, Andrea and Brian gave long-stemmed red roses to thank all of the people who had helped with the wedding - sisters, moms, aunts, grandmas and bridesmaids.

Congratulations Andrea and Brian! Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful wedding with us! And thank you to Heather Balliet and Leo Patrone for sharing these photos and details. (A fun tidbit - remember Alison's wedding from a few months ago? She's Andrea's sister!)

What a beautiful wedding! I love the alterations that were made to the bride's dress and how the dress's neckline and sleeves complimented the theme. The fans were also of course a favorite!

This wedding is gorgeous, and the Spanish details are just enough but not too much. I would love to know where the postcards came from...I am planning a similar theme and have been on the hunt for postcards like the ones pictured here for months. Does anyone have ideas? Thank you!

Milla-
My cousin took some of the left over lace from the dress alterations to make the flowers. The teal headbands are from JCrew. Thanks for asking!

What a stunning wedding. I love all of the dramatic details: the fans, the bridesmaids' style, the flowers floating in the fountain, and the postcards were very beautiful.

Wonderful! Also, I've been looking for some blue shoes just like your bridesmaids wore for my own "something blue". Chinese Laundry still had the shoes! Thanks!

Oh my goodness, I just love this. I'm a little bit obsessed with the fans and the crowns and the flamenco guitarist and the turquoise! Okay, I'm a little obsessed with everything.

Where in the world did you find the fans?! Such a unique detail.

I MUST know where the fans are from! We are having a spanish Tapas style reception in April and I love this idea!
