Real Wedding Saturday: Ingebeth & Matthew
There are so many things to love about Ingebeth and Matthew's lovely winter wedding. They chose a February date so that their American guests could experience something truly Norwegian - like a Norwegian winter! And almost every element, from the venue to the priest to the hairdresser, involved people the couple knew well. Even the photographer, Bryan Johnson from A Bryan Photo, had a personal connection as the brother of Ingebeth's brother-in-law - and he captured the day beautifully!

Ingebeth wore a dress by Marylise. Her earrings and bracelet were made by a woman that she met at the Christmas market in Oslo.

The church where the ceremony took place - Lisleherad Church - is next to a family farm where Ingebeth's ancestors go back to the 12th century.

Matthew wore a suit from J.Crew and a wool coat that belonged to Ingebeth's great-grandfather.

Though bridesmaids and groomsmen are not traditionally part of Norwegian weddings, Ingebeth and Matthew chose to include them. The bridesmaids wore traditional Norwegian dress. Though only a few of Matthew's family members were supposed to travel from the United States, his older brother surprised him by arriving at his apartment in Norway the day before the wedding.

The reception took place at Tuddal Høyfjellshotell, a hotel in the mountains with exactly the warm and intimate atmosphere - and great food - that Ingebeth and Matthew wanted to provide for their 55 guests.

All of the decor was done by Ingebeth and her friends, including a lovely ribbon monogram at the couple's table.

Congratulations Ingebeth and Matthew! Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful wedding with us, and for sharing all of these sweet details. And thank you to A Bryan Photo for sharing these incredible photos - truly special moments.

Great wedding :-)
what a charming & fun wedding! Love her boots :)
In my experience (lovely Swedish stepfather and family) the Scandinavians are remarkably graceful at celebrations. My theory is that it's all that dang time indoors:).
I love that the BMs wore traditional garb. Everything at this wedding looks warm, cozy & delightful
I love the books. I don't think I could pull that off for my own SoCal August look

This is priceless! I'm Norwegian, and this just makes me glow on the inside. It's probably my favorite wedding that you've posted!
Just lovely! How original too to see a Norwegian wedding! The boots are great, that church and the red plates on the wall were a real highlight. thanks!
I have to know where the bride's coat came from. Looks just like Carolina Herrera's from last season, but maybe less expensive?
I was about to say the same thing - her coat is to die for. I want it so badly - where on earth is it from?
How lovely!! My husband is Norwegian and we planned å winter wedding in Norge but ditched it for å simple city hall gig.. So lovely to see photos and live vicariously!! Tusen takk!!
Does anyone know how they made the pearl and nylon cord head table decorations?
The pearl decorations are bought ready made here in Norway! but it's easy to make if you have the time : hobby pearl and 'fishing line' - just tie a knot on both sides of the pearls, or, hot glue gun them in place. Or have two parallel strings, one with lager and the other with smaller pearls, tie the strings together above and below each pearl.
Not sure if this is any help at all, but, good luck;)
