Board #454: I Scream, You Scream, We All Scream for Ice Cream
My honey's very favorite thing in the world is ice cream, and it definitely makes my top three of favorite things, and though we haven't had much talk of our wedding in the past couple months, we're fairly certain that ice cream will make an appearance in some way or another. Then the thought occurred to me - what if ice cream was the whole reception? So I imagined this inspiration board: a chapel wedding with just a few guests, followed by a visit to your favorite local ice cream shop. Of course, if you wanted to include ice cream at a larger wedding, many ice cream shops have catering options (my personal favorite ice cream is Ici in Berkeley - mmmm.... caramel cashew). And I couldn't leave out pretty details like a gorgeous bouquet, a playful necktie for the groom, and sparkly ballet flats. So I have to ask - what's your favorite local ice cream spot? Favorite flavor there?

I miss the fabulous ice cream choices growing up in the bay area (Botts' Heavenly Raspberry Surprise was a fave). Now I live in the UK where ice cream is not so fantastic, but there is still the pretty great G&D's in Oxford (love the lavender & honey combo in summer) and Marine Ices in London.
We're getting married on Cape Cod in june (another location) and trying to find an ice cream cart from a good local company - if anyone has any suggestions in the Wellfleet/Truro area they'd be welcome - I heard of a Truro creamery but no details yet.
I love the Java Bean Cafe near Indy! It's tropical themed. My favorite flavor - I love anything with chocolate or coffee! Great board, btw!
I love Dolcezza Gelateria, an Argentine-style gelato place in Washington, DC. Their orange honey cardamom flavor is like a grown-up creamsicle! I can't wait to walk down there on a hot summer day...
Well, here in Austin, local fave Amy's Ice Cream would definitely take the cake (pun intended!), but I'm personally partial to the gelato selection at Mandola's Italian Market. The coffee flavor is to die for!!!

This board is so so lovely. As far as icecream, I'd have to go with Boubon Buttered Pecan from Jeni's in Columbus, Ohio.

LOVE IT!! This board is wonderful! My favorite ice cream...definitely Mackinac Island Fudge served at our local ice cream shop, Feather and Fin, here in Swartz Creek, MI.

Ok. So the question of the day might be if I can crash your wedding, because ice cream is my favorite food. Hands down. And my husband's is cookies so we had both at our wedding. Lots and lots of homemade cookies. I'm a bit of a traditionalist when it comes to ice cream. I love a great vanilla bean or cookies and cream. And the original peanut butter cup ice cream with the peanut butter swirled in vanilla, not chocolate.
I could go on for days about ice cream, but I'll refrain. ;-)

If I could eat ice cream all day long I would. I'm with your hunny- it's by top, numero uno, favorite thing to eat. Ever. :). Unfourtunately we don't have many good, traditional, ice cream shops in Alabama so I end up with Ben and Jerry's...Mmmm.

Vic's Ice Cream in Sacramento, California. I grew up a few blocks away and I still head straight there from the airport every time I visit my parents. Their chocolate milkshake is to die for. No other ice cream comes close.

Please tell me y'all have been to Amy's. I think the only flavor I've ever gotten there is Belgian Chocolate with Junior Mints crushed in. That's what I loved when I was little, and it's still the only kind I'll get (even though I've tasted several other flavors and they're all delicious).

"Ice Cream" is an appropriate theme for this board, because I want to eat the whole thing. And that bouquet- oh my gosh!!
Graeters Ice Cream from Cincinnati, OH. We have some here in the Louisville area. In honor of our location, we have bourbon ball ice cream. It's the best!

Rachel has it right, Jeni's Splendid Ice Cream in Columbus, OH is the BEST!! I love the Stout flavor paired with the pistatio honey topped with their to-die-for caramel sauce mmmmmmm! they have lots of unusual flavors that i love as well: salty caramel, black coffee, spicy thai (coconut, peanuts, and cayanne pepper if you can beleive it!), the list goes on.
Handel's ice cream in Columbus OH...graham central station is my favorite flavor! Thanks for the board, for me, ice cream is to die for and your board made me smile today!!

We have a fabulous homemade ice cream parlor called Mallard's that makes exotic and amazing flavors like basil, black pepper, rosewater, etc.
I love most the local berry fruits that pop in summer...there's a Cloudberry ice cream that they make only in September and October, and it's made with hand picked high mountain alpine blue- and huckleberries. Whoa.
this really brings out my girlie side, for sure. swoon. got 1/2 a mind to buy that tie for my mans.
