Real Wedding: Meredith & Patrick
Any wedding that includes a giant, 300-year-old oak tree is at the top of my list, and Meredith and Patrick were married under just such a tree. Working with a tight budget, the couple opted to hold their October wedding at the Texas home of the bride's parents. The reception took place in the barn/garage, and the exposed beams and cement floor gave the whole event a laid-back, down-home feeling - as did the family-style meal. By focusing on the beauty of the place and the season, they minimized the need for decorations, and saved even more by using seasonal elements like gourds, pumpkins and hay bales, and putting everything together themselves.

The peanuts were a fun little surprise for the groom and guests - Meredith calls Patrick P-Nut, so she made a special trip with her sister and two bridesmaids to pick up peanuts for the wedding.

This fabulous madras plaid, incorporated throughout the wedding, inspired the color scheme for the day.

With so many special moments, it was tough for Meredith to pick just one favorite - all of the moments she shared with me were about family, which I think sums up the way she and Patrick thought about their wedding during the whole planning process. It really was an event that was all about bringing two families together.

I adore those Anne Barge bridesmaids dresses and of course, the madras! What a sweet day. Many happy wishes to the bride and groom!!
Looks like a beautiful wedding and I love the madras... But I just keep getting confused by all these weddings that say they were done on a budget and then have massive diamond rings in the pictures? am i the only one?
great wedding. loved the colors! so vibrant. love the story behind this wedding too!
Thank you so much for featuring our special day. It was such an amazing time, I would have the same wedding again tomorrow..to the same guy of course.
I am glad you all love the bridesmaid dresses, they are not by Anne Barge, the dresses were designed for me by Bridal Portfolio. And yes the madras was a huge part of the entire wedding, LOVE it.
OMG! I'm so in LOVE with this wedding!!!!
Thank you so much for letting me be a part of your big day! The wedding ended up absolutely amazing and perfect in every way. Best wishes to both of you.
I LOVE her wedding band! Wish I knew where she got it :)
VEE,
The wedding band was manufactured by me.
I work for a wholesale diamond dealer and we also have a retail outlet in Chicago.
Windy City Diamonds, Chicago IL
It is a 3mm palladium wedding band with channel set baguettes.
We custom make about 90% of our jewelry and can custom create anything you would like.
Would be happy to make one for you!

The madras inspiration is great and I love the way they worked the colors throughout the wedding - especially the subtle silver for the BM dress with that pop of yellow.
Those bridesmaid dresses are beautiful. I love the bouquets as well, they go together so nicely.
ADORABLE shoes!!!!
This collection of photos really illustrates the power of a bride, groom, wedding party and vendors to add a comfortable feel to the wedding, while highlighting creative and ingenious details. These details truly portray the theme the bride and groom wish for their guests to enjoy, as well as show a representation of the newlywed's relationship!

I love this wedding! So beautiful—the handling of the warm autumn yellow and silver is so unexpected and takes a Fall theme to a chicer level.
